3 questions to Dominik Lemken

Dominik Lemken on meaningful work, flat hierarchies with fast decision-making processes and why he otherwise enjoys working in the WALTHER Faltbox Group.

As Managing Director, you have a lot of responsibility. What drives you in your day-to-day work?

Dominik Lemken: I am very much driven by the fact that our daily work for our international customers – very well-known customers from industry and trade – enables us to develop and produce new solutions that demonstrably make logistics and supply chains more efficient and sustainable. We do this in a very intensive dialogue with our customers. Of course, we need to understand what our customers’ specific needs are. New ideas and innovations then arise through our creativity, through courage, but certainly also through a keen sense for what is particularly relevant in an environment in which digitalization and automation are also increasingly changing logistics. It’s very exciting to be involved in this: That drives me to keep developing new solutions together with the team here.

What is the corporate culture like at the WALTHER Faltbox Group and how is it promoted?

Dominik Lemken: We are a medium-sized company with a good 240 employees here in Kevelaer. This allows us to have a very flat hierarchy. We have direct and quick decision-making channels. The fact that we can be very agile also helps us in the project business. But above all, we place trust in our employees. We give every employee at all levels the opportunity to develop, to contribute their ideas and strengths in order to work together to develop the best solutions for our customers.

What advice can you give to people who want to apply for a job with us?

Dominik Lemken: Yes, just do it. Our company offers a very, very wide range of opportunities to contribute your own strengths in a wide variety of areas, to develop your skills and to contribute to the company’s success. We operate very internationally. Our well-known customers from industry and trade are spread all over the world. Recently, we were even able to work on a major project in Australia. Most importantly and this is something very special: we have a corporate purpose that is meaningful. We develop and produce reusable solutions for our customers. So we are actively involved in reducing the consumption of resources in logistics, in reducing the CO2 footprint of logistics with our efficient solutions. And that gives us a good feeling of being able to play an active part in stopping climate change, at least to some extent.
