Reliable cleaning
Diverse range of equipment and machinery
Hako is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of machinery used for industrial, facility, and outdoor cleaning, as well as for grounds maintenance and winter services. For over 20 years, Hako has relied on custom-designed plastic components and brushes from Formex Plastik GmbH for its cleaning and municipal technology solutions. Since 2022, Formex has been part of the WALTHER Faltbox Group.
Customised components for diverse applications
Hako's customers include cleaning service providers, industrial companies, retailers, logistics firms, supermarkets, hotels, and hospitals in over 60 countries. Just as diverse as the customer base are the requirements for plastic parts and cleaning brushes across Hako's equipment and machinery range. Depending on the application, WALTHER manufactures specialized disc and roller brushes for advanced cleaning machines and multifunctional implement carriers. Additionally, for Hako's cleaning machines, the WALTHER Faltbox Group produces custom functional components using the plastic injection moulding process.
A service-friendly design allows customers to perform maintenance independently, such as easily replacing worn brushes, ensuring that equipment and machinery remain in operation for as long as possible. To promote particularly back-friendly and fatigue-free operation, Hako designs its equipment, including the individual functional components, with optimal ergonomic efficiency.
Innovative cleaning machine developed
Hako is continuously advancing innovations in autonomy, electromobility, and digitalization to provide customers with sustainable, future-proof solutions. In 2023, Hako introduced the Scrubmaster B5, a walk-behind scrubber-dryer specifically designed for smaller, confined spaces. For this complex project, the WALTHER Faltbox Group worked closely with Hako to design and manufacture over 30 custom plastic components.
The challenge was to precisely coordinate the components to ensure smooth interaction between all functional assemblies. In addition to the ergonomic design of each element, a high-quality appearance was also a key consideration. Hako celebrated early success when the Scrubmaster B5 was awarded an innovation prize shortly after its market launch.
