4 questions to Mathilda Player
Mathilda Player on the start of her apprenticeship and everyday working life at the WALTHER Faltox-Group.
Doreen Fischer: You are in your first year of your apprenticeship with us as an industrial management assistant. How did you find starting your job with us after school?
Mathilda Player: I was accepted into the team really well and then had two or three days to settle in. I was shown my working place also the production and got to know my colleagues better.
Doreen Fischer: What is the working atmosphere like for you? How did that make you feel?
Mathilda Player: The atmosphere is really good. Everybody is very kind to me. I noticed that straight after the first day. That’s when all the tension fell away. And then I thought to myself, this really is a good team. I don’t need to be afraid to ask any questions. I am perceived as a colleague and not just as the “apprentice”. I have my own areas of responsibility and have my own freedom. I can do a variety of things here and I like that. And I hope the other colleagues feel the same way, or that’s how I perceive it.
Doreen Fischer: How do you experience the variation in your day-to-day work as an apprentice, especially the opportunity to get a taste of different departments? What experiences have you had?
Mathilda Player: I really enjoy being able to get a taste of the different departments. I started in the Assistance department and now I’m in the Marketing department. Of course, it’s also very diverse and creative. I really enjoyed it.
Doreen Fischer: You have now officially completed your trial period. Congratulations on this and you now have all the benefits at your disposal, right? What do you particularly like about it?
Mathilda Player: The benefits themselves are great. I didn’t even know there were so many benefits. I also signed up to the gym straight after my trial period. It’s really great that I have this opportunity. I also can take part in driver safety training. There are a lot of different offers from our company and I don’t think that shows what great stuff they do for their employees.
